He is one of Us?
One of the most important observations one can make about humanity is that we are prone to making mistakes. You?re probably familiar with the old proverb that states, “To err is human”. Certainly I am sure that all of us have had our share of “messing up”, or “guessing things wrong”, or just plain stupidity. Indeed, because of this inherent trait of our existence we tend to immediately frown with disdain or disbelief upon someone making the claim that they are perfect and that they never do anything wrong!
Truthfully we do tend to affirm a person?s humanity precisely when he or she makes a mistake. Mistakes and blunders bring us back down to earth – to the realm of mere mortals. But this brings us to a bit of a problem?what do we do with Jesus? He didn?t make any mistakes.
The Bible says that everyone has sinned and has fallen short of God?s glorious perfection. Everyone that is, except for Jesus. Jesus never sinned. What do we do with that? Continue reading
