Props to preach with…Group’s Unforgettables.org

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

I came across this neat site at Group’s Unforgettables.org. Basically it’s a place where you can get various – what Group calls – “Unforgettable Experience Packages” that you can use as teaching aids when sharing a message to your congregation. Some of the things on the site are:

  • Bounce Putty
  • Bendable Persons
  • Picture Flip Cubes
  • Mini Chicken’s (the gag kind)
  • etc.

For each item they have some suggested messages that can go along with them. The idea is that when you have the congregation participate in doing something rather than just passively listening then the message will have more impact. Group has priced these items fairly cheaply and it looks like it could be a good resource. It’s definitely a site that will go in my “ideas” folder!

Reinforcing the message

This article presents a great idea that I think I’ll try out in the near future (as soon as I get “organized” enough where I know the text for next weeks message a week ahead). I especially like how can help prepare people for hearing me preach on a particular text and invite their participation. Gives me one more reason to try accelerating the development of the new HPC Online site so I can incorporate this in the site somehow! See the full article here: Layers of Bible Study: Reinforced, Concrete – BuildingChurchLeaders.com

I agree that having the text of the next weeks message prepared ahead of time for passing out to members of one’s congregation would create the potential for greater interaction with the actual sermon delivery and hopefully their retention. What do you think?
