One of the traditions we have had in my family on this holiday we celebrate called Thanksgiving is that before we eat the meal we go around the table and share one thing we are thankful for. And then we ask God’s blessing on the food. There were times growing up where I would roll my eyes and think to myself, “Here we go again! Come on lets just get to the food already!” It usually is a time where my mother gets weepy and thanks God for her children and her family. I thank God for this tradition that my parents established because it taught me that there are many things we can be thankful to God for! Some of you may have a similar or different tradition you celebrate on thanksgiving. I believe the real point of this holiday has been to create a time in people’s lives for them to be thankful for what they have! Continue reading
