The third eternal truth that Paul shared with Timothy was “God gives Us Hope for the Future” Our future is secure and certain with God. In this passage Paul encourages Timothy to have a perspective that looks at life through the lens of the future - a future obtainable because of our hope in God - a future that affects our life now and transforms what we know about the past.

The first eternal truth that Paul shared with these two leaders was “God’s Grace is Abundant” This truth was [and is!] so important that Paul emphasized it in two places and if we are going to progress in our lives as Christians and have anything to offer to our neighbors and families, we have to begin with a proper understanding of God’s grace.
