God is calling us this morning saying, “Go to Nineveh.” My question is, “where are you headed?”

The Apostle Peter declares an important truth about Christians. We are aliens ? we are strangers to this world. That is what Christians are. That is a declaration engraved in the word of God. As citizens of heaven we are aliens and transients here on earth. We take our identity and our mission from another place ? from God Himself. That is what we are. Yet how many Christians live that way? I believe that when Christians live who they are there is revival.

But think of the disappointment these men must have experienced when after traveling many miles by camel through the night, they discover that the star had come to rest over a stable! Surely they were expecting a palace. Or perhaps a stately mansion. Think how they must have felt. Their vast disappointment as they look down from some nearby Judean hill and come to the realization that their destination was a stable (or a cave or a common dwelling).

We’re all familiar with the Christmas story but did you know that YOU have a part in it? You make your own ending to the Christmas Story depending on how you respond to who Christ is, what He has done, and what Christ calls you to do…

No other statement sums up best the purpose of God for the incarnation than what John writes in John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” For the unexpected gift of Christmas is this babe laying in a manger that had an earth-shattering impact for the past, present and future of mankind. The question is though, “Why would God do things this way?” The answers of course lead us to the most important observation - Christmas is so much more than a mall display…
